Quotes and prices

Every price on this site is before GST, which is added at 18% on the invoice. A quote we give you is good for 30 days. Where a page shows a range, the price depends on what we find when we look, and we tell you the final figure before any work starts.

Paying

For building a website we ask for 50% before we start and 50% when it goes live. Care plans are paid once a year, in advance. One-off jobs are paid when the work is finished. Invoices are due within 7 days. If you paid for a website health check and then go ahead with a build or a care plan within 90 days, we take the cost of that check off your first invoice.

Care plans

A care plan runs for a year from the day it starts and renews for another year unless you tell us otherwise. We will remind you before it renews. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling stops the next renewal.

Included work means the work described on the plan. Anything beyond it we quote for first, at ₹1,250 an hour.

If a renewal is not paid

Your plan and your domain have separate dates, and this is the part people are caught by, so it is worth reading twice.

The plan. If a plan renewal is not paid, your website stays online for 30 days after the renewal date. After that we take it offline. Cancelling on purpose stops the next renewal rather than cutting anything off early, so you keep what you have paid for until the date it runs to.

The domain. Your domain has its own expiry date, set when it was registered, and it is usually not the same date as your plan. We renew it for you while your plan is paid. If your plan has lapsed we do not renew it, and once a domain passes its expiry date what happens next is decided by the registry, not by us.

Roughly, and it varies by ending: for about 30 days it can still be renewed at the normal price. After that there is a further period when it can only be brought back by paying a restoration fee, which is far more than a renewal. Then it is released, and anybody in the world can register it. That whole process is usually over within 70 to 80 days of the expiry date. Once the name is gone it is gone, and no amount of paying us will get it back.

So a domain has to be paid for before its expiry date, not before your plan date. We will tell you what that date is and remind you in good time. If you want to keep the domain but not the plan, say so and we will transfer it to you or to a registrar account of your own, at no charge.

Domains

Your domain is registered in your name. A .in, .co.in, .com, .net or .org ending is included in the plan and renewed each year while you are with us. Endings that cost more than a .com, and names already owned by somebody and resold at a markup, are charged at the difference. If you leave, the domain goes with you.

What we need from you

We need your text, pictures, logo and any logins the work depends on. If we are waiting on you for more than 30 days we may pause the job and pick it up again when you are ready.

You confirm that anything you give us is yours to use. If a picture or a piece of writing turns out to belong to someone else, that is on you, not us.

What is yours

Your domain is registered in your name. Your content stays yours. Once the final invoice is paid, the website we built for you is yours, and you can take it elsewhere. We will help you move it.

The tools and code we reuse across our customers stay ours, and you get to use them for as long as your site runs.

What we do not promise

We look after websites carefully, but nobody can promise a website will never go down or never be attacked. We keep weekly backups so that we can put things back. We are not liable for money you lose because a site was unavailable, and in any case what you can claim from us is limited to what you have paid us in the last twelve months.

Ending it

Either of us can end a care plan by telling the other. If you leave, we will give you a copy of your site and help you hand it over. We do not hold sites hostage.

Which law applies
