At DotsCastle, a website for a small business in India costs ₹30,000 to build and ₹18,000 a year after that, plus 18% GST. A simple starter site is ₹15,000 to build. Bigger sites cost ₹60,000 or ₹1.2 lakh to build, and an online store is ₹1.2 lakh.
That first-year figure has two parts: a one-time fee to build the site, and a yearly fee that keeps it online, updated and backed up. Here is how the plans compare, and what decides the price wherever you buy.
What does each plan cost?
| Plan | To build, once | Every year | First year | Pages |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹15,000 | ₹9,000 | ₹24,000 | Up to 13 |
| Essential | ₹30,000 | ₹18,000 | ₹48,000 | Up to 20 |
| Growth | ₹60,000 | ₹36,000 | ₹96,000 | Up to 40 |
| Signature | ₹1,20,000 | ₹72,000 | ₹1,92,000 | No fixed limit |
| Store | ₹1,20,000 | ₹72,000 | ₹1,92,000 | A shop with payments, no product limit |
Prices do not include GST, which is added at 18% on the invoice.
What decides the price of a website?
- How many pages it needs. A shop with one location needs fewer pages than a school with admissions, notices and a page for each class.
- Who writes the words. In our plans we write them for you.
- Whether it takes payments. An online store needs checkout, UPI, card and net banking payments, and GST invoices, and those need testing every week.
- Anything built only for you. Bookings, a customer list or staff-only pages are custom software, priced separately from ₹1.5 lakh.
What costs do people forget?
The build is the part everyone asks about. The yearly costs are the ones that surprise people later. A website needs a domain name, renewed every year. It needs hosting and an SSL certificate, the padlock in the browser. It needs software updates every month and a backup every week, or one day it stops working.
In every DotsCastle plan the yearly fee covers all of these: hosting, the SSL certificate, a .in or .com domain registered in your name, monthly updates, weekly backups and someone watching that the site stays up. When you compare quotes, ask each one what happens in the second year.
Is a cheaper website worth it?
It can be, if someone still looks after it. A website that nobody updates is exactly the kind we are asked to rescue. Fixing a hacked or broken website costs ₹9,000 to ₹18,000 with us, which is about what a year of care costs on the Starter plan, or more.
Questions people ask
Is GST included in the price?
No. GST at 18% is added on the invoice, in your business name, so you can claim it back if you are registered.
Who owns the domain and the website?
You do. The domain is registered in your name from the first day, so you can always take it elsewhere.
How long does a website take?
Usually two to three weeks for a business website, and four to six weeks for an online store.
Can I pay monthly?
Website plans are paid as a build fee and then once a year. Custom software and marketing are charged by the month.
